Since taking office on October 1, 2023, we have been preparing for the future of the new Oriental Calligraphy Association by reflecting on Chairman Lim Hyun-gi's passion for calligraphy and its past history.

In 2019, former Chairman Lim Hyun-ki of Seonggok opened the official website of the Oriental Calligraphy Association, where Korean, Chinese, and Japanese artists can exchange their respective works, in line with the era of internationalization, and said, “A person who overcomes himself is a strong person.”
The name of the era in the year of 己亥 was chosen as the name of the era in the 己亥 year with the four characters “Seonggi (self-reliance)” meaning “self-motivated person”.

Afterwards, due to the global coronavirus outbreak, the exhibition was canceled and an online exhibition was held, and due to the sudden illness of Seonggok Chairman Lim Hyun-ki, the management board took center stage, and the 2023 Korea Oriental Calligraphy Exhibition was difficult, and various participating artists and related ministries were involved. I have also experienced an experience where the project was carried out without any major incidents thanks to the enthusiastic support of .

However, by appointing a new board of directors, including myself, and completing the reservation of the Seoul Arts Center exhibition hall to hold the exhibition in 2024, we are moving to a new home and ambitiously preparing for next year's exhibition step by step.

In addition, we are preparing to welcome the new year of 2024 with the support and cooperation of several senior artists, executive directors, invited artists who participate in our exhibitions every year, and relevant ministries.

Next year, like this year, in order to hold the 21st Korea, China, and Japan Representative Calligraphy Artist Invitation Exhibition and Korea Oriental Calligraphy Exhibition, the submission of works will be completed by June 30th, and the exhibition will be held at the Calligraphy Museum of the Seoul Arts Center from August 31st to September 8th. We are planning to hold this event, so please submit your excellent works as before and brighten the exhibition hall of the Seoul Arts Center's Calligraphy Museum.
